When in Crisis

In a world of so many uncertainties, we are seeing many people dying from the pandemic and senseless acts. As people, we are encountering feelings of fear, disappointment, anger, and confusion. Where do we turn in a season where there seem so many unanswered questions? Who do we trust when we feel systems in place have failed us? Do we sit and allow these emotions to take havoc, or do we take action? I don't know about you, but these are some of the questions I wrestle with when I see no change, and it seems every week's the same headlines, but different names or numbers are affected.

Now it could be easy to say or act as if you don’t see and turn the head because it is not at your door. But the reality is it is at our door when we allow it in our ear and eye gate. So now the issue becomes how do we respond. Because there is always a reaction to action, but we must ensure it is a Kingdom sound response. We cannot respond as our surroundings do out of emotion with no wisdom. Please understand we must feel and embrace all that comes upon us, but we cannot move out of that emotion. There has to be a calming meaning there has to be a silence of peace because in peace is where we get our answers. We don't get answers out of noise and chaos. During the silence, we can center ourselves and settle our spirit so God may fill and remove every hurt. I don't have all the answers, but I do know we have to stay focus on God when we don't have a clear understanding. We do this through fasting and being on our face praying to get answers and then move appropriately, as God says.

I encourage that you check on one another and lift your brothers and sisters during this time. Let them know that they have the support and a shoulder to lean on. My prayers for you all this week are that you have positive outlets and make sound decisions—blessings and love.

Pray with me:

Father, this has been a tough week. We have seen some things that no one would ever imagine seeing in this lifetime. We as a people are hurting and are looking for direction from you as we know that this is not just physical but spiritual. Because your word says in Ephesians 6:12, we wrestle not against flesh blood but, against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. So, we ask Father, forgive us for our sins. We also ask for healing in our hearts, our home, and our communities that will spread across the nations. We pray to you Father, that you remove the spirit of racism, injustice, disease, and negativity that would come to destroy your people. We ask that you give your people strength as your word says in Psalm 46:1 that you are our strength and ever-present help in trouble to you people. God, we pray that you breathe peace over your people and settle their minds. We bind every spirit of trauma, fear, and death. We pray now that you cover ever home and place a shield of protection. We pray for every family that has been affected and that they receive comfort from the Holy Spirit in this hour. We pray to you, Father, that destruction cease and that hope, peace, and healing fulfill the earth. We pray for you to dismantle every corrupt system, and you begin to rebuild in the land. We ask, Father that you cover every area of your people's lives and that salvation begins to fall upon them. We are asking that you show your people that you are with them and that you have never forsaken them. So, Father, let your love cover us as we embrace you. And we bind every spirit of retaliation that would try to come against your people. In Jesus' name, we pray.
